Try using Spy Sweeper by Webroot, a very effective, not-gonna-break-your-wallet spy sweeper that can be found at places like Staples. What is happeing to your system happened to mine. Basically, it sounds like you have a cookie in your system that is taking you where you really don’t wanna go and screaming at the makers of the Security Center won’t do any good. Try the Spy Sweeper. It’s a good investment.

    go to

download spyware doctor (make sure you update by clicking on smart update on the top right corner before you do a full scan) and see what the results of that come out to be.

    if that does not help:

    open your internet browser
go to tools, options, general, change homepage
type a new homepage website address
    that should work

is the security website the internet browser redirecting you to a microsoft website? it could be a browser hijack that someone installed on your computer that is redirecting you to a fake security center website.

I had this on my computer and removed it myself easly.
You have to open the windows registry editor and find the program that changes your home page!

I cant remember what the program I had was called but i down loaded it thinking it was something else.

Open the regisry editor by typing REGEDIT in the run command of the start menu - Dont change or move anything in here unless you know what you are doing.

First you have to locate it in your registry under
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE
    \Microsoft
    \Windows
    \CurrentVersion
    \Run

Here you will find a list of programs that run when you start your computer.
Find the one thats changing your home page but be very carefull not to change a normal program as it may be used by windows.
A good way is to note down all the file names and check when each one was created in windows explorer. This should be the day that your problem started happening!

When you have found the correct file remove it from the registry - BE CAREFULL THAT IT IS THE CORRECT ONE!
The find the file and delete it and also delete the host program that you downloaded.

That should solve the problem. - You home page will then stay to what you set it to.

Now buy Norton Protection Center - This has a function that checks for these programs and also protect your home page makign you enter a password to change it.

    Hope this helps.

I would recommend using TrendMicro’s (formerly SpySubtract) Anti-Spyware. You can download a trial version here:

I used to use Spybot, Yahoo Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware,… you name it, I tried it. Anyway, TrendMicro’s product worked for me!!
